Erie Federal Credit Union is very excited that we have partnered with CU Strategic Planning to provide the HERO or Community Development Certified Financial Counseling Certification Program to all our staff!
What is a HERO?
HERO Counseling is an interactive, web-based staff training, testing and certification tool. The objective of the program is to train ALL Erie FCU staff on the very best techniques for identifying financial distress, intervening and coaching low and moderate income individuals and families. With your new HERO CDCFC designation, not only will you have more knowledge to assist our members, you will also obtain valuable resources to assist you in your own financial journey, including both friends and family.

I have been with Erie FCU for almost 10 years—I started here in Fall of 2016 in the IT Help Desk position and continued to grow in IT where I was given the opportunity to become higher tiered support, lean in to more specialized IT Operations roles, and all the way to today where I have the privilege of leading an incredible team in the IT Operations Support Manager role.

When I first joined Erie FCU, I thought it would just be a job until I figured out my long-term career path, but it quickly became so much more. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported. The people I work with and the opportunities available here are incredible. Coming in with no background in finance or banking, I was given the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. People took chances on me, and I was determined to not let them down. That experience sparked a passion in me to help others see what’s possible here too. If you bring an open mind and a positive attitude, you can succeed. This isn’t just a job for me anymore, it is my passion. I love Erie FCU and everything it stands for: our members, our community, and the way we support one another.
I began my career at Erie FCU in 2003 as a teller at the 38th Street branch. Shortly after, I transitioned to the file room, where I gained valuable knowledge about loans and loan documentation. From there, I moved to Titles & Insurance/Quality Control, Lending, and Indirect Lending. In 2008, I took a few years off to focus on my young children, returning in 2012 as a teller at the Bayfront office. Soon after, I moved into Member Solutions as a Member Solutions Specialist. Over time, I earned positions as Bankruptcy & Recovery Specialist and later Member Solutions Assistant Manager. After spending 10 years in Member Solutions, I stepped into my current role as Training Manager. I truly value my journey and the many opportunities that have prepared me for where I am today.

At Erie FCU, we are extremely proud of our storied tradition of supporting our community and the charitable organizations and events that make up the fabric of Erie, Pennsylvania. With the opening of our Glenwood Branch, we decided to give these philanthropic endeavors a name and "officially" launched #Team AOK (Acts of Kindness)
Since then #Team AOK has been able to “make a splash” in helping to spread neighborhood “goodwill” throughout Erie and the surrounding communities. All employees are encouraged and invited to participate in this ongoing, worthwhile cause!
