Today, Erie FCU made a $3,000 donation to ServErie in support of the organization’s efforts to help clean, repair and paint Erie’s JoAnna Connell Elementary School. The donation was made in honor of JoAnna Connell, one of our 10 original founding members.
Ms. Connell, born in 1878, was one of the most celebrated Erie School District teachers and taught English for more than 43 years. The school was dedicated to her in 1957. She also founded the Erie Chapter of the League of Women Voters and organized the Erie Chapter of the American Federation of Teachers.
