Credit unions are very unique in today's world & belonging to one isn't as rare as you may think. They're owned by their members...everyday people just like you. In Pennsylvania, 3.4 million people belong to credit unions and nearly 90 million people belong nationwide. Unlike other financial institutions that need to make a profit for shareholders, credit unions were created for the benefit of their members. They are not-for-profit financial co-operatives that offer better rates and lower fees to their members.
Credit unions are guided by a board of volunteers and elected by their members. Each member has an equal vote, and an equal voice in their credit union.
Credit unions offer a full range of financial services to their membership. Many credit unions offer surcharge-free ATM networks, online account access and bill-payment services.
Not a member of a credit union? If you live, work, worship or attend school in Erie or Crawford County we invite you to join the Erie Federal Credit Union.
