Erie Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are several areas, however, that will collect certain information about you and we want you to know how we handle that information.

If you visit our website, Erie Federal Credit Union collects and stores information on the domain you use to access our website, the Internet address of the site from which you linked directly to the site, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various pages on our site to better serve our membership.

If you send an e-mail, Erie Federal Credit Union collects and stores personally-identifying information in order to process your e-mail, form or application. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of e-mail activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed.

If you visit a secure site, such as home banking, you will be asked for personal identification numbers which will give you access to the member only section of our website. This information enables Erie Federal Credit Union to regulate entry to the member only portions of our website and to measure member usage. Any identifying information gathered is not sold to third parties.

If you link to another site from any of our pages, you are leaving our site pages, and we cannot be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site. We make every effort however, to ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy policies as ours to offer you maximum security and privacy.

How We Collect and Use Other Information

Erie Federal Credit Union uses third-party vendors, such as Google, that use cookies and pixels to inform, optimize and provide advertisements based on a visitor’s past visits to our website.

We respect your privacy and are not collecting any specific identifiable information through the use of cookies or pixels through our third-party marketing partners. Erie FCU uses cookies to make your online experience with us and certain linked websites more rich and personalized based on the products and services the user expresses interest in. Importantly, we do not share personally identifiable information with Google or other third-party vendors.

Mobile Banking Permissions

The mobile banking application requests access to information stored on your mobile device to allow you to use the full potential of our app.

Here's an overview of the permissions the app may ask:

  • LOCATION – Will aid you, via your device's GPS, in locating the nearest branch or ATM. This will also assist monitoring unusual activity to help alert us to possible fraud.
  • CAMERA/IMAGES - Access is required for the sole purpose of mobile deposit of check images to your Erie Federal Credit Union account.
  • ACCESS FILES/MEDIA – To allow you to receive secure message attachments.
  • CONTACTS – For future use in sending person to person transactions direct from your contact list.

Please be assured that Erie Federal Credit Union will only use this information to enhance your user experience and improve services provided. This also allows us to protect your account with strict security measures.

Erie FCU Card Manager MOBILE APP

Erie FCU Card Manager Mobile App periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information for enabling features such as, but not limited to, card use and alerts to prevent fraudulent activates, but only if the end user expressly authorizes collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background only while the feature(s) are being used or not at all, depending on the end user’s selection. The end user can change his/her/their location permissions at any time in their device settings.


Disclaimer of Liability

In no event will Erie FCU be liable for any direct or indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits arising in connection with use of our Online Sites, any interruption in availability of our Online Sites, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, loss of data, or otherwise, even if Erie FCU has been advised of the possibility of such damages or loss.

You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining all hardware and software required to access the Online Sites, with the exception of applications you download from us in order to use our services (e.g. our Mobile App). Erie FCU will not be liable for any direct or indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from the use of any hardware or software not obtained directly from Erie FCU.

The information, materials, and functions contained in our Online Sites, including text, graphics, links, or other items are provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from computer virus(es).

Erie FCU does not warrant the adequacy, accuracy or completeness of the information and materials included in our Online Sites or in third party sites linked to or from our Online Sites or that the functions provided will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Erie FCU expressly disclaims any liability for any errors in or omissions from information, materials and functions included in our Online Sites or any third party sites linked to or from our Online Sites.

Our online and mobile service will generally be available to you 24 hours per day, every day of the year except during periods of scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.

These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with Pennsylvania law.
