Job Title: HR Coordinator Position

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Coordinator provides support in all aspects of human resources including employee relations and assistance, benefits, payroll, safety, training, recruitment and hiring, records retention, and other administrative tasks and special projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Answers employee basic requests and questions with empathy and in a confidential and timely manner. Refer advanced questions/concerns to HR Manager.
  2. Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website/newspaper/additional resources, reviewing and entering resumes, performing telephone interviews and reference checks.
  3. Assists with recruitment and interview process. Coordinates and schedules interviews with all interviewers. Reserves interview location and prepares necessary interview paperwork.
  4. Prepares paperwork and conducts new employee orientations. Continues to build employee/employer relationship after hire.
  5. Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  6. Completes health/dental/vision, life and long-term disability insurance processes to include enrollments, change reporting and billing. Communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs.
  7. Completes HR checklists and updates HR systems/spreadsheets with employee change requests and processes paperwork. Communicates changes to other departments and vendors as needed.
  8. Communicates frequently with Accounting Department to ensure accurate employee compensation.
  9. Conducts audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
  10. Takes on an active Administrator role in the online payroll system. Assists managers and employees with timecards and attendance tracking in payroll system. Maintains employee time off records throughout the year by confirming accuracy in payroll system.
  11. Maintains the employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed.
  12. Assists with processing of terminations.
  13. Takes an active role in Human Resource research, special projects, and employee events.
  14. Maintain up-to-date and thorough knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  15. Maintain current knowledge of and compliance with all Credit Union policies and procedures, including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Attend meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses relating to areas of responsibility.
  2. Support and participate in credit union sponsored activities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with employees and vendors. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  2. Requires high school education. Additional coursework in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field preferred.
  3. At least two years of human resources experience required.
  4. Intermediate working knowledge of PC applications (Office Suite).
  5. Human Resources certification (HRCI or SHRM Certification) preferred.
  6. Proficient spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  7. Excellent telephone and communication skills.
