Your privacy is our priority. This is our pledge to you and, as you will see by reading this statement of our privacy practices, we take our promise very seriously. The Erie Federal Credit Union is dedicated to meeting the financial needs of its members. In addition to the numerous services, which the Erie Federal Credit Union offers directly to you, we also work closely with insurance companies and financial service providers so that together we may provide you with competitive products and services such as insurance annuities and mutual funds to meet your financial goals.

This notice describes the privacy policies and practices of the Erie Federal Credit Union.

Our privacy policy begins with this basic promise: We will demonstrate and maintain an unwavering commitment to protect the privacy of our members. We will also align our practices to support the privacy policies to fully and completely protect our members. As the financial services marketplace becomes more competitive with large conglomerates offering a wide range of products and services, the Erie Federal Credit Union will need to work closely with strategic partners in order to serve our members’ needs. The use of close working relationships will require exchanges of information to provide members loans or credit, life and accident insurance, disability insurance, mutual funds or other future products to meet financial needs. The Erie Federal Credit Union and the insurance companies are committed to protecting your privacy as together we provide you with competitive products and services today and into the future. Likewise, in order to promote the financial security of all our members, we will work closely with strategic partners to broaden our offerings of insurance and investment products, increasing the quality and quantity of products, which are made available to you.

What “nonpublic personal information” do we collect?

In order for the Erie Federal Credit Union to make insurance, annuities, mutual funds, or security brokerage services available to you, we collect personal information about you – some of which is “nonpublic.” The nonpublic personal information we collect varies depending upon the product you purchase. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

• Information we receive from you on applications or other forms (such as name, address, age, Social Security number or tax ID number); • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others (such as the type of product you buy, the premium you pay, etc.);
• Information we receive from the consumer reporting agencies or other third parties, such as general consumer purchasing and census data. We use this information in order to provide our members with a full range of competitive financial products and services and to develop marketing programs so you may learn about products, services and economic trends that can affect your financial decisions. Our practices are designed to manage your information responsibly.

What “nonpublic personal information” does the Erie Federal Credit Union disclose?

The Erie Federal Credit Union is dedicated to strong partner relationships with insurance companies and financial service providers to bring our members competitive financial products and services. We also structure these relationships to protect your personal information. The Erie Federal Credit Union does not disclose or sell member information to telemarketing companies. However, as permitted by law, we may disclose all of the information we collect as described above to the following:

• The affiliates of the Erie Federal Credit Union to provide financial products and services such as group or individual credit, life, health, accident or mortgage insurance, annuities, mutual funds or securities brokerage services; • Companies that perform marketing services or other services on our behalf.

In order to conduct our business, we also disclose nonpublic personal information to other non-affiliated third parties, but only as necessary to administer products and services we provide or as required or permitted by law.

We maintain strong confidentiality protection with insurance companies and other strategic partners.

The Erie Federal Credit Union may disclose all the information we collect, as described above, to life insurance companies and other financial institutions as permitted by law and subject to contractual confidentiality provisions, which restrict the release and use of such information. These disclosures are made to make competitive products and services available to you. The Erie Federal Credit Union may enter into other strategic alliances with life insurance companies and financial services companies in the future to improve our ability to offer competitive products and services to our members. Any future alliance, which includes sharing personal information, will follow the privacy practices described in this Notice.

Our goal is to provide you with the best financial products and services available. By partnering with life insurance companies and financial services companies, we believe we can deliver meaningful financial products, services and information to help achieve the financial goals of our members. Our commitment is to protect your privacy in all situations and to work closely with insurance companies and financial services companies in meeting our members’ needs.

We restrict the sharing of information.

Other than the disclosures referenced above, the Erie Federal Credit Union does not release your nonpublic personal information to unaffiliated third parties. We protect information about former members. It is our practice to retire information retained from a former member and not use it for future marketing purposes. The Erie Federal Credit Union does not disclose personal information of former members with unaffiliated third parties or affiliates of the Erie Federal Credit Union unless required by law.

How does the Erie Federal Credit Union protect the security of “nonpublic personal information”?

The Erie Federal Credit Union maintains strong security controls to insure that nonpublic personal information in our files and computers is protected. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to designated personnel who need to know that information to provide products or services to you or may be responsible to maintain information security practices. We also maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

How does the Erie Federal Credit Union protect the security of “nonpublic personal information” online?

The Erie FCU website does not collect, store, or sell members’ information that is submitted through our website. The website is on a secure server and members’ information is protected with 128-bit encryption. Members may voluntarily submit personal information through the website in order to request information or services. Such information is only used to respond to these inquiries and/or to provide requested services.

When a member concludes EZ Money Manager, EZ Bill Pay, or EZ e-Statements sessions on the Erie FCU website, designated cookies that are required during current sessions are cleared from the website because we only use session cookies. The Erie FCU never uses persistent or third party cookies.

The Erie FCU does not maintain or control the external websites whose links are located on our website. These external websites may not follow our privacy, security, or accessibility policies.

When submitting information to the Erie FCU using e-mail, we suggest that members submit general inquiries that do not contain private information because e-mail is not secure.



How does the Erie Federal Credit Union protect children’s privacy online?

Erie FCU recognizes that protecting youth members, young consumers, and children's identities and online privacy is important. We encourage you to be involved with your child's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. We do not collect personal information from children through the Erie FCU website.
