Debit Card Phishing Scam

Jun 17, 2011 | Posted in Fraud Alerts

A Pennsylvania credit union reports that several of their members have received automated calls to their cell phones advising that "their credit union debit card will be blocked for security reasons and in order to prevent this from happening, they must enter their PIN to authorize it." If the call is not answered, a message indicates that the card will be blocked.

Please remember that the credit union will not contact members in this way and if you receive a call, DO NOT give out any personal or sensitive information about your debit card or any of your accounts. If you have questions or feel your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
